Alan Smith, CFP®, CWPP™

President & Founder

Alan has over 33 years of experience helping people discover their purpose and passion and creating an investment plan that helps them achieve their vision of a successful retirement pursuing those goals.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with Honors from the University of Florida, Alan began his career at Carpenter Technology first as an Industrial Engineer, then moved into marketing and then as a Branch Manager.

Always having a fascination for financial planning to help people achieve their life goals, he transitioned his career to become a Financial Advisor. He built his experience at CIGNA, New England Financial, Manulife Financial and now as an independent Registered Investment Advisor. To broaden his knowledge, he has earned a number of financial planning certifications and credentials, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation (CFP®) and the Certified Wealth Preservation PlannerTM (CWPPTM).

Alan serves business and personal clients in many facets of financial planning, including: qualified retirement plans, key employee options and ownership continuity plans for businesses; wealth accumulation (investment planning for education, major acquisitions and retirement), income protection (disability and premature death planning), and asset preservation (retirement and estate planning).

Alan lives in Eureka with his wife, Janet, and they attend New Community Church in Wildwood. Alan also leads a weekly men's Bible Study Group. He enjoys being the 'father' of Wendy and Brett, his stepchildren, and the 'papa' of nine grandchildren. Alan also enjoys physical fitness, reading, shooting and skiing. He and Janet spend most of their time with their Golden Retriever, Logan.

 


Joyce Nischbach

Joyce joined the ASA Advisors team in 2010 and her focus is to provide administrative and operations support to keep the team organized so they can provide exceptional service to help meet each client's financial needs.

Joyce currently resides in Wildwood with her husband Mark and is a mother of four and grandmother of one. Their daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Jake live in Huntley, Montana. Their son Eric, daughter-in-law Kristin, and grandson Carter live in Fenton. Their daughter Jaclyn resides in Wildwood when not performing in theatrical productions in other cities. Their son Timothy lives in Louisville, Kentucky interning as a mental health associate and will complete his graduate studies at “To Be Determined” University. Mark and Joyce sponsor a child in India through Unbound, an international nonprofit Christian organization. The family are parishioners at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Ellisville.
 


Deb Hawley

Deb joined ASA Advisors in 2011 and is responsible for creating and maintaining client communications programs. She is responsible for the client  newsletter and the team website which provides clients timely and topical educational and service content to help them stay informed about their investments.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and minor in Psychology, she built her career and experience in communications and advertising with J. Walter Thompson in New York as well as DMB&B, KPMG and CRESA Partners in St. Louis.

Away from the office, Deb enjoys attending live theatre events, dinner out with friends and listening to live music and attending a weekly women's Bible Study. She is active in the community and volunteers her time to a number of programs including volunteer reader to Pre-K thru 2nd grade students at The Freedom School in University City; volunteer at The Haven of Grace, a residence for homeless, pregnant women; serving as confirmation mentor to 8th grade girl; co-leader of 8th grade girls group and visiting elderly church members who are homebound.

Deb and her husband Jeff live in Chesterfield with their two dogs (Max and Lucy) and two cats (Sassy and Coco). They sponsor a single mother in Haiti where Deb went on a vision trip in 2018 and also sponsor a young lady who cooks meals for children housed at El Centro Integral orphanage in Honduras.
